EU Right of Withdrawal & Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to consumers resident in the European Union who buy from JolieBeauty at a distance (online). It sets out your statutory right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). It is in addition to, and does not affect, your rights under our standard Returns Policy or your legal rights in respect of faulty goods.

Your right to withdraw

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which you (or a third party indicated by you, other than the carrier) acquire physical possession of the goods. Where your order is delivered in several shipments or consists of multiple items delivered separately, the period runs from the day on which you acquire physical possession of the last item.

How to exercise your right

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement, sent by email to hello@joliebeauty.co.uk.

You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the 14-day period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery (except for any supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery we offer).

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We will use the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent the goods back, whichever is the earliest.

Returning the goods

You must send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the 14-day period has expired.

You will bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling them other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning — that is, the kind of handling that would be permitted in a shop.

Exceptions — when the right of withdrawal does not apply

In line with Article 16 of the Consumer Rights Directive, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Sealed cosmetic, beauty and hygiene products which are not suitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons, if they have been unsealed (opened) after delivery. This includes, for example, skincare, makeup, lip products, applicators, sponges and makeup brushes once the hygiene seal or protective packaging has been broken.
  • Goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly (e.g. certain perishable products).
  • Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
  • Sealed goods of any kind that have been unsealed after delivery where return is unsuitable for health protection or hygiene reasons.

Unopened products with their hygiene seal and original packaging intact may be returned within the 14-day period under this policy. This exception does not affect your right to a remedy if a product is faulty, damaged or not as described.
